Amature programmer needs help with replication and syncronization
I'm just an amature programmer that wrote an Access 2003 Database program for
my company to track inspections at customer's sites. We want to deploy it by
keeping the master on the server in the office and having replicas on about
10 laptops. I understand I need to split the data base into the front end and
backend. I can do that without trouble. But what about making it secured, I

Replication Manager 4.0
Does anyone have Replication Manager 4.0 they could loan? SOOO nice of
Microsoft not to include it with the Access 2003 Developer extensions and
then not make it available for download. 2000 Developer Tools had it, but
it is no longer in circulation from Microsoft. Any help is appreciated.

Running synchronizer on the server
I have very little experience configuring servers so I'm not sure about how
to install Replication Manager on a server and make sure that the
synchronizer continues to run at all times. Unfortunately, I don't have
access to a server on which to experiment and I don't want to have to
experiment on a production server.
The server I need to install my replica set and Replication Manager on...

Time Out Of DM
I've read here that it is important to replicate the DM with the hub to
keep it from timing out. What type of replication should this be
(one-way or two-way)? If one-way, which way (DM to HUB or HUB to DM)?
Thanks.

Add New Table To Replicated Database
I have several replicated databases running. Each database has its own
design master, hub and replicas (some partial and some full). For the
sake of discussion I'll call each of these unique sets a replica group.
The design master (DM) for each of these groups was created from the
same non-replicated database and they are all identical.
Here's the question. I want to add a new table and...

help needed understanding replication
Hello Everyone!
I have a problem that I think replication will help me with, but I am not
sure. Can you help?
I have two computers that are not always connected on a Network. One is a
desktop and one is a notebook. I want both the master and the replica to be
able to enter new records and delete records, and still end up with only one
current table after I sync them both.
I unde...

synch design but not data question
Because the original design master (which I did not make) was no longer
valid, I made a replica of the database replica that was in current use
and had up to date data. I set the new replica as design master and
made the needed change to its design. Now I would like to synchronize
it with the previous replica to have the design changes carry over.
However, when I made the new design maste...

MS Access Pull Subscription Replication with SQL Server
We have a program that uses a central SQL Server 2000 for data storage.
To use the data externally, an access db is created that holds the
data.
Now changes can be made to the sql server and also to the 'detached'
access db that I want to synchronize. I read up/experimented with SQL
Server replication and found out that SQL Server is capable of doing
push replication to access db's.
How...

what controls whether an object is hidden in a global replica?
Just posted a different Q, but here's another ...
When I make certain tables and queries hidden in the Design Master, they
still come out unhidden when I make replicas of the DM.
I've just been getting object properties and checking the "hidden"
attribute.
Is there something else that needs to be done to maintain the "hidden-ness"
of queries and tables in replicas?

removing members from a replica set
I'm relatively new to replication in Access DBs, and have run into a problem
I haven't been able to quickly solve.
In moving data around, and re-designating the Design Master as a design
master after having moved data, I've ended up with lists of old replicas
(paths to them, actually) in the pick list when I go to
Tools>Replication>Synchronize Now, under "Synchronize directly with...

Multiple Replica Sets Not Working
We are attempting to set up multiple replica sets or groups where each
group replicates among itself, but not with each other. It's not
working.
This is how we have attempted to set it up. A single master database
is placed in its designated group (see Replica Master folder at link
below). That master is Recovered in its designated folder using Access
2K. Next, the replica hubs are cre...
