ShowUserRosterMultipleUsers
I am using A2K and the 'ShowUserRosterMultipleUsers' procedure from MSKB to
establish who is logged in and using the backend data file on network.
It works fine in my office LAN using Windows XP Pro, but fails when run on a
client network over TS using Windows 2003 Server (and A2K).
It fails on the line:
Set rs = cn.OpenSchema(adSchemaProviderSpecific, ,

Access 2003 Security workgroups
Hi there,
I've created a secure db in access 2003.
When I join the the workgroup security.mdw, the security I've put in
place works all right. when open it asks for password, doesn't allow
the user level to modify, etc.
however when I try to open a different database the security window
appears and the security rutine restarts, which would be fine if I'd be
the only one to work with acces...

Who is using the Access file?
I have an Access Database on our network, and I want to be able to see who is
currently using the Access File. The users login to the network, but do not
login to the Access Database. We use Windows XP Professional and Access 2003.
Is there a possibility to see which users (user-id's) are using the Access
File?
Thanks in advance,
JeroenM....

Users sharing a Computer & Access - What's the answer?
I have a client who is a manufacturer and an Access application is used down
on the shop floor where they have PC's in each production area. Currently
when a transaction is entered the worker just selects their name from a drop
down list but the problem with this is that they can select any name not
just their own. There is currently a generic login for each PC e.g. Line1,

How to get NT Login ID from User's Credentials?
Hello All:
First off: Thanks for everyone's help in these newsgroups.
Your help is truly appreciated.
Here's my latest project roadblock:
Having read ALOT of these articles, I plan on using a Back-End MDB for the
data,
and 3 Front-End MDBs for the users as well as another MDB for someone to run
reports.
This is all going to happen in Access 2003/Windows XP on a corporate network...

Auto FE Updater - .mdw files
Hi all,
Seem to be having the same problem, has a work around been found ?
Dom
N.B. I already posted this problem on a other group but users told me I
had more chance to run across Tony Toews in this group. Sorry for the
duplicate. I hope to have support this time since every topic I found
on the same subject has no answer.

Wireless LAN
I have a customer who recently added a wireless laptop user to his group of
users that are using an Access 2000 database application I developed. All
has been working great until the wireless user has come on-board. However,
now the database corrupts. I'm thinking that accessing the database over two
different network environments (LAN and WLAN) is causing the problem. Also,

I would like someone to explain where the backend would reside and on what,

Access application slow to start after first 2 or 3 users have started our application
Hi, some of my customers have the problem where the 3rd
or 4th users take much, much, much longer to start our application. There is
a front-end mde file and a back-end data file (both in Access '97). The
front-end mde file is started
under Access runtime. This seems to happen when running the back-end data
file on
a network server under Windows 2000.
This has been a real brain teaser. ...

to a field from a recordset, then open the report using the same field as the

Corrupt vba when installing .mde on Front End

I have a front end/back end application which I install on my client's

person's machine.
It seems that when I try to install the .mde on one of the machines, each

Access Client/Server issue
Hello,
I have designed many Access Client Server Applications before where I have
the 1 MDB file on the Hard Drive & the data MDB file on the server & have
the Tables Linked.
For this one client when I do the same when 1 user logs in they are fine.
But when anyone else does they freeze & they have to End Task out of
Access. So basically it is only allowing 1 user to log in. So that i...
