Run queries on Network
This may not me the place to post this question but it is the best place I
could find so far. On my server I would like to run a series of queries at
say 12:00AM while my computer is on but I am logged off. I was thinking I
could do this in Windows Scheduled Tasks. I think I can make some sort of
code or batch command or something to fire Access to run a macro or other
vehicle to run my ...

Retrieve missing table?
Hello, Monsters!
I've been working with two coworkers on a small Access database for a few
weeks now, but all of a sudden one of the main tables is simply no longer
there. No one has deleted it (as far as we have been able to determine), but
it's simply not there anymore. If anyone has any suggestions that might help
get back a table that has gone missing, I would be very glad to hear it!

FEUpdater on Peer to Peer
I have been using the FEUpdater for several years now for an Access Database
in a peer to peer network. It worked great until just a couple of months
ago. Now I can't do design work in my front end without it locking up
Access. If I get everyone out of it--no problem. But everyone has their own
front end and we are only sharing the back end. Has anyone else had this
problem or where to s...

data not saving
I have a client that is reporting their data is not saving.
There are four users that enter data at the same time into the same table.
They enter the data straight into the table not using a form. They have
reported when viewing the data later some of the records have not been
saved. We have the Database Exclusivness set to 'Shared' and records locks
set to 'No Locks'.
Any ideas?

Question about Access across a network
I'm experiencing extremely poor response on my front-end application when it
connects to a back-end database across a network.
I've set up a real simple network. Three Windows XP computers and one hub.
Each computer is given it's own IP address: 192.168.0.1, 192.168.0.2, and
192.168.0.3. One computer is the main computer and the other two are
satellites. I shared out the folder were ...

Only 1 user able to access mdb with Access 2003
We are unable to get multiple users to be able to use a mdb (no
passwords) using Access 2003. If a user with Access 2003 is in the
database, a user using Access 2000 can access the database but users
with Access 2003 cannot.
Is this a problem with Access 2003 or is there a setting within Access
2003 which will allow muitiple Access 2003 users to use the mdb?

Unable to open database exclusively
Occasionally, I have experienced times when I am unable to open a database
exclusively. I understand that if someone has it open, its not possible to
open it exclusively. However, I have a tracking mechanism in the database

Has anyone ever experienced times when you are unable to exclusively open the
database to make some updates / modificatio...

Record Locking Rules
I posted this in the "getting started" forum, but maybe it belongs here...
When you choose record locking rules (I happen to be using Access 97 for this
one...), do those rules you just set apply to the database, no matter who
uses it, or to the user, perhaps on this database alone? How does that work?

determining if any records being edited
Hello,
I need to figure a way of determining if any records in a table are being
edited before running a few different update routines on the table (Access
2000, program MDB on local C, data MDB on network drive). I have a form
that lists out all the records in a small table (<200) and different
machines can edit different records. At a particular time, I need to
compare and update...

Can't Open mdb
When anyone else is using an mdb file, I can't open it at all even to
just browse a table. All our computers have Access set for no
locking and tried record-level locks as opposed to page locking. I've
never had this problem before even though I've been using
Access since 1.0. Can anyone tell me what to check for? TIA

Record locking problems with split db
I have a split A2000 database, with about 10 users each with their own copy
of the FE. I'm getting strange record locking behavior:
If I have "No Locks" set on the forms, I get the normal message that
"Another user has edited the record, do you want to overwrite/ cancel/ etc".
But if I have "edited record" set on both users' forms, and I try to edit a
record that is being edited by anot...

This is a linked table.
I created an MDE file and put it on the 10 users "C" drive.
After a very short while of use, the data becomes corrupted. This happens
over and over for the past week.
I salvage what I can, make some changes, and redeploy.
