Import 'Choice' Data into Access From Excel
Okay, I believe that I'm in over my head on this one, and I'll do my

I have two databases, one in access, and one in excel. The excel
database has been used for years in my facility and is in dire nead of
replaceing. That's where my access database comes in. My boss wants
me to bring in some of the data from the old datbase into the new one
to create an overlap of data ...

mysql linked tables
I have created a working ODBC DSN from Windows to a Mysql 4.1 Server.
When trying to link the tables with Access 2000, I select the DSN and when
it *should* show a form containing all the tables, it shows nothing at all
and I'm right back at the beginning of the process.
I have done the process successfully at work so I know the steps I'm taking
are correct thus far.

Automated Text File Import
Hello, All:
I'm designing a very simple database that will import data (all text
files, all different names, each text file using the same column
headings, one common directory) basically for reference purposes. I

(different file names)" from February 2005...see link at the end) using
macros and a hidden form. That looks lik...

A command button (Access) that saves the current record in a file
The command button which would simply create a text file that would contain
some information on the current record selected. For example, the current
record selected (say record no4), contains a Lot ID (say, N12453.1), a device
Name, (AD8618ARCU-SHRT), and Qty (say 200units). I would like to save these
three entries automatically in a text file by simply clicking the command
button.

Import fails and .mdb file balloons up in size!
Every day I export data from a company application to an excel worksheet. I
run an excel macro that cleans up the data for import to an Access db on a
network drive (used by many). On an Access form in the db, I click a button
that truncates the data table and then uses a command to import the new data.
This works for me every single day using the same computer in my cubical.

Importing large cell from Excel
I'm trying to import from Excel via VBA; sure, that's easy with
DoCMD.ImportSpreadsheet. Unfortunately, it has the same limitation as using

content causes the data to be imported as a Text field. This limits the data
to 255 characters, and I need more than that. I can format the receiving
field to be Memo, but I ...
