Access Runtime - Reinstall Compiled Project with Data
I am starting over explaining a problem we have - please disregard
previous posts as they are misleading.
We designed a VBA Application using Office 97 Developer Tools. We
distributed this as an ACCESS RUNTIME application. The database was
split into MDE & MDB, we ran the ODE Setup Wizard to create
installation floppies. The customer added data to the application.
If relavant, our custom...

back end relative reference in a distributed application
I have a split db that my client needs to distribute to vendors.
The zip file contains a folder, MSDS, that contains a folder, BE, that
contains the BE.mdb.
In addition to the MSDS folder and its contents, the zip file has the Hazmat.
mde FE file.
How do I link the FE to the BE when I distribute the zip file? The links all
refer to my desktop. Is there a way to create "relative" links in Acc...

Licensing: Distributing Office for dynamic report generation in vb6 app. Office 2003 (11.0), 2002/XP (10.0), 2000 (9.0)
I am looking at Office XP/2002 developers edition to allow for some
dynamic Access report generation from with a VB6 app. I read that 2003
starts to require Visual Studio Office Extensions or something of the
sort, is this yet a new name for ODE ? Is Office 2003 ONLY capable of
being included in a .net app ? From what I read on the groups here, it
implies it's only available through .net. ...

Package and Deployment Wizard - where is it? (ACCESS 2000)
Hello --
I feel stupid asking this question:
I can't find the PDW that I thought I installed.
I installed what I thought would include the Package and Deployment Wizard
from
an MSDN subscription CD (Disc 13)
0100 Part No. X05-34801
Dated: January 2000
Can someone tell me if the PDW is included in this CD?
If it is, can you tell me what is the file name that it installs on my ha...

If only runtime is installed, what happens when double-clicking an mdb
I've never tried this; anyone know, will the Access runtime be invoked
to run an mdb file if retail Access has never been installed? I know
there would be many limitations (no design etc) but I'm curious about
the basic question here, does the Access runtime (2000-2003) act like a
regular copy of Access in that it takes over the mdb extension as it's
own? I mean a simple mdb that wasn't ...

Update Excel Spreadsheet from Access VBA
I want to read in an Excel spreadsheet (multiple sheets from a workbook),
update some of the cells, then transfer that range of cells back to the
spreadsheet. I don't mind treating the whole sheet as a table, but the ADO
Update method doesn't work and I can't find any other ways other than "export
spreadsheet" method, which requires transferring the whole sheet at once.
Strategies?

I'm creating a database in Access 2000. I've creted parameter queries to
prompt the user for a job number prior to showing the records in a data

Order Details Form
Hi,
I am a beginner.
I am running Access 2003 on XP Pro sp2.
I have a form based on the table Orders.
In that form, there is a sub form based on the table OrderDetails.
The idea is to do much like what the NorthWind sample does, namely, allow
the user to add lines in orderdetails.
My table OrderDetails has a column of type Currency called 'LineTotal'. This
column is the last on...

Does anyone know wheater there is an patch exisiting or microsoft will
implement the edit-features only in the next version of access.

VFP 9 SQL connection sharing
A database accessing SQL via ODBC with sharable remote view 'A' will share
the connection (IE have the same connection handle) only when view 'A' is
opened multiple times.
View 'B' in the same database, with the same connection name that is also
sharable will create a new connection handle when used. A second use of 'B'
will share the connection originally used by 'B". But 'A' and 'B do n...
