I can't open documents and tech support is useless
I was running Word 2000 with no problems. I decided to get Word 2003. I
cannot open/view any of my documents. I get an error message "The file
whatever.doc is not available." Then, when I attempt to exit out of Word, it
says that there have been changes made to Normal.dot and then to the Global
Template. I have spent over 2 hours talking to tech support in India, but
they have no id...

Data Type Mismatch...Syntax?
I have an SQL statement that returns a 'data type mismatch' in the

this post)

Emails alerts from back end
Hi to all!
I've built a front end/back end batabase for our small company (10 users).
It handles goods in out, works orders, etc. I'm now looking to set up an
alerts system that emails users when eg: a works order is due.
The only way i can think to do this is to have the back end open all the
time on the server and running loops to check for the dates and times of
certain entrys, then s...

User rights in Access Database
I have a database that is used for time and attendence (Login and

clicks "OPEN" it takes them to the appropriate splash screen, but when
they hold shift as they click "OPEN", they can get to the
tables/reports/etc. How can I password protect this database ...

Replication Conflict
When one particular user replicates his database to the master, he gets a
conflict with a field called "Gen_Tempfield*0.
I don't understand what this is. I did not create a field called
"Gen_Tempfield*0 in the database. An example of the data it gives is:
Existing Database "Gen_Tempfield*0 = 642
Conflicting Database "Gen_Tempfield*0 = 602
Does anyone know what this means and how t...

I have developed a db in Display setting 800 by 600, but now I have a new

CHECK constraint usage
And the case against:
1) CHECK constraints cannot be created, edited or deleted using the
Access graphical user interface. They can only be created via Jet SQL
DDL statements. Once created, they do not show at all in the table
Design View.
2) CHECK constraints are at odds with standard Access behaviour. While
CHECK constraints provide a means of allowing multiple field- and
record-level...
