calculating formulas for template
BRUCE 02.12.2005 20:29:03
I want to create a formula for a dilution. It needs to be able to take an
amount of product and calculate how much water I need to make the dilution.
Everytime I tried to make a formula, it would give me a circular reference
error. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix?

Not without your posting your formula, as well as explaining the input
and outputs.

Circular reference means one of your cells in the formula refers to itself.

Show us you formula and a sample(no attached file)of your data.

Sounds like you need something that computes a percentage by amount....weight
or volume.

Product volume is in A1.

In B1 enter the percentage of water........60%

In C1 enter =A1 * B1

Example...........

A1 you have 100 lbs of product

Formula in C1 returns 60

You need 60 lbs of water.

A1 is 345 you need 207 lbs of water.

Your computations are probably not as straightforward as that, but give it a
try or post back with more detail.

You may need a table and a VLOOKUP formula.
