AutoShapes default to "no line"...

When I use the arrow tool (or any other AutoShape) to draw, it always defaults the "line color" to the "no line" setting. If I have the object selected, I can then change it to black (or default) but the setting does not stick when I draw another arrow.

I have *a lot* of arrows, lines, and boxes to draw and would like to find a fix, rather than changing the setting each time or using copy-paste. Also, I would rather not run "detect & repair" because I don't want *all* my settings to return to default. :(

I have checked the Color settings on Tools>Options, but it doesn't help -- and I have searched the MS Knowledge Base but so far cannot find how to change the default line color value.

Any suggestions? -- GoDario27 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ GoDario27's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php?action=getinfo&userid=26313 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread.php?threadid=478807

If a 3-D effect has been applied to the object it automatically turns off its border. If you remove the 3-D effect, the border should return.

If you want to select all the objects on your sheet
Press F5, Click on the button labeled Special...., Click Objects, then OK. This will find and highlight all the objects on your worksheet. Then just right click on one of the highlighted objects and change it's settings. (This will change all objects highlighted to the color you select.

I hope this helps you out.

Late post, but for people who are still having this problem:

Create a line and set the line to a color or default. Now right click the line. From the menu, select "Set AutoShapes Default". This should lock in the automatic setting on any line created thereafter.

Hope it works.
