how to disengage column setting to type across the page

I cut and pasted a pdf page from a website. The page setup is in column form
on the website. I would like to continue typing in my document right after
the section that was cut and pasted, but I cannot get column formatting to
disengage. My text keeps wrapping in column form.

Insert a Continuous section break and then change the number of columns to
1. Alternatively, select your new empty paragraph and set the number of
columns to 1, and Word will insert the section break for you.
