Large Document - Printing

I have a large document (new hire package) which contains tables, graphics, forms etc. When I try to print even one page of the document, my printer drops off line. I understand that my printer buffer may not be able to handle the entire however, not even on page?

I also have a large document (benefits package) which does not have this problem. Perhaps is there something in the new hire package document itself which causes the printer to drop off line? -- cgregory

If other documents will print, then it sounds like you have a document
corruption. Unless your printer is seriously old, the driver and buffer
should be designed to handle long documents.

Try --

1. Converting to PDF and printing that.

2. SaveAs under a new name.

3. Select the first dozen or so pages, copy to a new document, and see if
that will print.

Like Jezebel says, the length of the doc shouldn't make a difference -
especially if other long docs print with no problem.

Another thought, though, is if the problem doc contains Section Breaks that
involve layout changes - page orientation in particular. Make sure that the
printer driver is up-to-date, & if the doc isn't corrupt you may need to
print it one Section at a time.

You might also try selecting all but the *last* paragraph marker (Ctrl+A,
Shift+LeftArrow to select), copy, then paste into a new blank doc & see if
that will print.

My advice to print your document by little parts If your printer is not good. One dozen for once -- Speedle
