Possible ON2007 B2TR Bug
"Amos Soma" <amos_j_soma[ at ]yahoo.com> 27.09.2006 16:57:24
I noticed that since I updated to B2TR anytime I attempt to paste anything
into my notebook, ON freezes and then shuts down. It doesn't matter what I
attempt to paste. It could be a hyperlink or some text from another
application.

Has anyone experienced this?

Thanks - Amos.

Shuts down you mean it crashes? Or what does it do exactly?

Not that specific issue, but please log the bug on Connect.

Also, if it is an application crash, the automated crash reporting tool
should appear. Do indeed let that tool report back to Microsft. that's
actually the best way for the developers to resolve the issue in a future
release.

Since I installed B2TR mine crashes every time that I paste something when
the notebook can't synch. I'm using a USB flash drive for synching between
two computers. I didn't notice this in the initial Beta 2. I can paste as
long as the USB drive is plugged in. I've let the auto errror reporting send
bug reports a few times.

I didn't log a new report on the connect site, but commented on # 213672
that someone else just logged today. It mentions Vista, but mine acts
exactly the same on XP.

Robert,

This is my experience as well. I have a 2G USB drive I synch to. I didn't
think to try the paste operation when the USB drive is vs. isn't installed.
When it is not installed, ON crashes. When it is installed it does not
crash.

Amos.

I'm having the same problem - OneNote is crashing whenever I paste. I also
have a one note file that's on a flash drive. Unfortunately, my flash drive
isn't around as I use it as offsite backup and just sync it up once a day or
so.

Is there a way of turning my cache file into the main onenote notebook,
reopening it and being able to paste?

I'm having the same issue. Using a flash drive for OneNote storage and
working offline. I've tried to paste into several folders and they all fail
and OneNote restarts. With the flash drive installed I can paste information
with no trouble.
