search folders
tablet user 30.09.2006 04:09:01
Hi there, I used to have two search folders that worked perfectly...I had one
set to find all messages flagged with blue and another set for red-flagged
messages.

Then I switched email accounts and now my main inbox is off an imap menu
(this is located below my old inbox, junk email, outbox, sent items, and
archive folders in the left hand menu). Now my search folders no longer pick
up flagged messages in this new inbox, and no matter how hard I try I can't
set up new search folders that will look for flags in the new inbox.

I would LOVE some help here...I keep losing/forgetting about important
messages without having them stored in a central search folder!!

Search folders work per folder set, so you need search folders in the new
pst, however, they don't always work well with IMAP and may need the full
message downloaded.

The question is, how can i get search folders in the new pst? When I go to
make a new search folder, the only option it gives are to look in (ie, gather
flagged mail from) either Personal Folders or Archive Folders, and if I click
on 'create a custom search folder,' I can't find any option in there for
customizing one to grab mail from an imap inbox.

If there is no option, is there perhaps a way I could make my imap folder
somehow become my personal folder? To me, search folders is the most
important/useful feature of outlook! I really want it back!!

if you right click on the search folder in the imap folder, what options do
you have?

Damn, that's the second thing I've been told I'll have to get Outlook 2007
for (the other was auto-purge of deleted or moved messages). Arrgh.
