Another question about removing security
Andrew B 20.09.2006 16:19:03
Hi,

I'm in a bit of a bind. I have been given a copy of an Access 97 database
that has security already set up. I have the shortcut file, the .MDB file and
the .MDW file. I am using Access 2002 on my PC. I can log on to use the
database application (as Administrator - using the shortcut), but I can't get
into Design Mode to make any changes.

Help!

What happens when you try to change to design view? Do you get a permission
error?; you say you are logging in as 'Administrator', but is that user a
member of the Admins group? Are you sure this user has the appropriate
permissions?
Are you just not able to get into design view(it's disabled); if that's the
case, you likely have a MDE not a MDB.
