Are all objects being used?
"CEV" <chadv[ at ]advancebkg.com> 26.09.2006 20:02:15
I am fairly new to Access Databases. I have created a few for work here. As
I have been working on them I would experiment with a query for example. If
that qry was working but did not give me exactly what I was looking for I
would try a different qry and keep the previous one because I thought that
data would be useful later. Well now the deal is I have a query that I am
not sure if it is being used for any reports. Instead of going through all
the objects I am wondering if there is an easy way to find out if this qry
is linked to any other objects. And thinking of this it would be nice to
have something that showed how all the objects in a database are linked to
eachother. Is there a way for this?

Thanks,

Chad

Easiest way is to get a 3rd party tool like Total Access Analyzer
http://www.fmsinc.com/products/analyzer/index.html

Other options include
Find & Replace: http://www.rickworld.com/products.html
Speed Ferret: http://www.moshannon.com/speedferret.html
Ucora's: http://www3.bc.sympatico.ca/starthere/findandreplace/

WOW!!! The Total Access Analyzer looks just like what I'm looking for. I
doubt though that our small non-profit organization would allow the $300 for
it though. Anyone know if they have a discounted price for non-profits?

Thanks,

Chad

Keep looking. Find and Replace is shareware.

Just remember that shareware doesn't mean freeware. If you do use Find &
Replace, you really should pay Rick the $37 for which he's asking.

On the other hand, http://www3.bc.sympatico.ca/starthere/findandreplace/ is
completely free (afraid I've never used it, though, so I can't comment on
it)
