marking multiple messages as junk
Bubba Gump <nobody[ at ]microsoft.com> 29.08.2006 12:53:10
Is there a way to mark a large group of messages as junk at one time
rather than clicking each one and hotting junk? We know how to select
multiple messages but then the option to "add sender to junk senders
list" becomes inoperable. My client is running Outlook 2003.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

There is no way to mark even one message as junk in Outlook. The junk mail
filter in Outlook is untrainable. All you can do is add sender addresses to
the Blocked Senders list and that's a highly inefficient way to manage junk
mail because most spammers do not reuse addresses. It's fairly uncommon
these days to get junk mail from the same address multiple times.

If raising the sensitivity of the junk mail filter does not suit your needs,
an add-on like http://spambayes.sourceforge.net/ may be of value.

As far as I know that's not possible in OL2003 or OL2007

Thanks brian. I've heard of spambayes and heard it's pretty good. i may
tell him to give that a whirl.
