Try Search! (And link to troubleshooting)

I would like to encourage you to try out OneNote Instant Search! Try regular
and phrase (quoted) searches. Please install OneNote 2007 Beta 2 TR, because
many issues that people have experienced in Beta 2 have been fixed.

Note that OneNote will find your notes even if they have not been indexed
yet, because it always scans directly through any non-indexed items. So your
search speed will vary depending on how many of your notes have been indexed.

Please report any issues to us! (reliability, speed, etc.) We would really
like to catch any hidden problems before we get OneNote 2007 out the door.

OneNote 2007 B2TR search troubleshooting info is available here:

Aloha Olya,

One of the first things I noticed with the TR is that search seems much improved.

After installing the refresh, what I noticed is that every few seconds my
hard drive would go absolutely crazy, making my computer completely freeze.
I tracked it down to Windows Search- disabling that fixed all my problems.
So, it may be giving better results, but it's not worth it for me until it
actually works.

Any suggestions?

Whichever one is currently shipping with build 5600 of Vista.

This problem didn't occur until after the Tech Refresh of Office, so I
wonder if there's some issue there....

Vista RC1 is 5600. Just checked MS's site to confimr.

The Tech Refresh is suggested for RC1, which is what I'm running. If it's
got problems with their suggested config, they need to start ironing out the
bugs.

I did, still pretty bad performance problems.
