When I try to install Cambridge Dictionary, I get error : ODBC locked.

I think a msconfig should solve the problem.
This normally happens if there are any services like backup exec, or compaq
is trying to use odbc/mdac components.
do, start > run > msconfig
On the services tab, click the checkbox "hide microsoft services".
Then, disable all the services.
On the startup tab, select disable all.
Restart the computer and install.
It should install fine.
If there are any issues, send me the install log.
It should be typically in temp diretory. start > run >%temp%
Find the one which is for this installation and post it here.

Ajith

disabling those services in msconfig will stop these services and programs
from loading when the computer starts. This will not uninstall or remove any
program or service. This will increase your computers speed because less
programs and services are loaded in the memory.
Probably, you can enable all of them back if you want to.. (as we have
installed successfully)
Its again the same procedure.
