Starting Defaults
"Wally Steadman" <walter[ at ]steadmanusa.com> 13.09.2006 13:06:55
Greetings all,
I have looked under the Tools>Options for starting defaults. I am trying
to get the forms defaults to change so when I select create a Form in design
view it is basically ready to go.

Example: When I go to properties on a form

Some choices are:

Scroll Bars - Default is BOTH, I would like it to be NONE
Record Selector - Default is YES, I would like it to be NO

I would like these defaults changed permanent if possible. I know I can
change the defaults per Database, but is there a way to change them so the
next time I create a new database the defaults are already modified?

TIA

Wally Steadman

I'm not aware of any way to change the built-in property defaults, but one
of the common techniques to accomplish what you seek, is to create a group
of form templates (blank forms with the design/properties that you want)
then just import/copy them to any new database.

Ed thanks for the response. The method you proposed is the solution I am
already using so i guess I am good to go. Thanks again for the response.
