Combine Multiple Presentations together
"Steve" <whacm1[ at ]yahoo.com> 11.09.2006 15:21:07
I am looking for some advise on merging (might not be the right term)
three PowerPoint presentations into one.

Currently I have three active presentations that display on monitors.

Presentation 1.ppt - Monitor one
Presentation 2.ppt - Monitor two
Presentation 3.ppt - Monitor three

They are all in a loop display.

I need to create a new presentation that will display the three
presentations into one presentation.

Presentation 1.ppt - Monitor one -|
Presentation 2.ppt - Monitor two -| --> Presentation 4.ppt
Presentation 3.ppt - Monitor three -|

I have tried to insert them into PowerPoint (Insert->object->from file)
but it seems the loop function in each presentation takes control and
does not allow me to move from one presentation to another in the
single presentation.

Any suggestions? Clarification?

Have you tried using Insert > slides from files. If you have xp on you may
also want to tick "keep source formatting"

Did that answer the question / help?

Thanks John -

I need to "link" the slides since the other three presentations are
updated daily if not hourly. I could use your suggestion but than I
would need to create the slide show each day as the slides change
instead of just updating them.

John,

What Michael said... but also...

===
Presentation 1.ppt - Monitor one -|
Presentation 2.ppt - Monitor two -| --> Presentation 4.ppt
Presentation 3.ppt - Monitor three -|

I have tried to insert them into PowerPoint (Insert->object->from file)
but it seems the loop function in each presentation takes control and
does not allow me to move from one presentation to another in the
single presentation.
===

The trick would be to set your 'master' presentation (the one that
calls/links up to the other presentations) as 'looped'
But set each 'linked' presentation as 'not looped'

Re: Combine Multiple Presentations together
"Steve" <whacm1[ at ]yahoo.com> 18.09.2006 13:08:13
Thanks TAJ and John -

Now I am back on track but of course I think I just got derailed again.

I changed the linked show to no loop and the master to loop and it
works great.

Now my problem is the linked PPTs are locked when I run the
presentation. This might just be a limitation issue with powerpoint but
I want to be able to update the linked PPTs while the combined show is
running.

Any additional insight into addressing my problem?

Thanks
