Cached Exchange Mode out of sync
"Joshua A. Booker" <josh[ at ]newsgroups.nospam> 08.09.2006 16:56:27
Hi There,

I use Outlook 2003 in Cached Mode with Exchange 2003. My Inbox does not
synchronize properly. I open Outlook on another pc (also in cached mode)
and the inbox items are not there. If I receive mail on the other pc, items
never display on my main pc. In OWA it only shows inbox items on the other
pc. Other folders and sent items appear to synchronize properly.

Perhaps related: I see two instances of the Exchange folders in the nav
pane ('Mailbox - [Username]') When I remove Exchange from the profile, they
both go away. However, When I go to Email Accounts, after the Exchange
account is removed, I still see 'Mailbox - [Username]' in the 'deliver to'
drop down. When I add the account again both mailbox instances return in
the nav pane and I see it twice in the drop down.

Thanks in advance,
Josh

I got alittle confused on your last paragraph... however, it sounds to me
like the email being delivered to "the other pc" (the one that keeps the
email that you see in OWA) is staying on the server.

One machine is delivering to a PST or OST (these are the emails you
do not see on OWA).

To make matters worse, it sounds like there may be a synchronization
problem. (Perhaps a corrupt PST or incorrect logging out of Outlook).

You should check both machines for ALL PST's. Make a note of the
locations.

You should check to see if one/both machine(s) is/are delivering to
an OST. If so, make a PST of the information in the OST.

After you have done all of this, make sure both machines are delivering
to your mailbox. Close Outlook. Delete all OST's (this will remove
a corrupt OST that may not be synchronizing back to the server).

When you open outlook, a new OST will be created.

In the future, be sure to use the FILE | EXIT on the menu to close
out of Outlook. This allows Outlook to perform the necessary
housekeeping (ie: synchronize to the server, etc.).

I have the same problem, inbox did not sync, and two instances of the
mailbox!

mails are visible in outlook webmail, but are not syncing to a caching
outlook computer.

even after turning caching off, deleting ost, and turn cache back on.

any solution yet?

Roel
