Text Spreads Out when typing

When typing a line with full justification on, the text now spreads across
the line as you are typing, which is very disconcerting. This never used to
happen with full justification on. Anyone know how to turn it off?

You may have inadvertently applied paragraph distribution
(Ctrl+Shift+J) instead of justification. Does pressing Ctrl+J fix it?

Another thing to check: Is the "Set the width of a space like
WordPerfect 5.x" option checked, in Tools | Options, Compatibility
tab? If so, clear it.

Thnx. Neither solution works. As soon as you type the first word on a line
and press the spacebar, the second word jumps over to the right and so on. H

Could be document corruption. See
