Strange behavior...
NC_Sue 02.09.2006 00:44:02
Since getting a new system (Windows XP with Office Professional 2002), when I
use the drawing toolbar to insert a graphic in Word, I get a strange box that
says "Insert Drawing Here". Why? I really would like to get rid of that
stupid box.

That "stupid box" is called the Drawing Canvas, and - believe it or not - it
can be useful & is sometimes necessary. Look it up in Word Help.

In the meantime, go to Tools>Options>General - remove the check for
"Automatically create Drawing Canvas...".
