How can I avoid exiting Word when closing a file?
Susan Miller 18.09.2006 20:57:01
I have been upgraded to 2003 and now when I close a file in Word, the program
exits and I have to re-open Word each time. Any ideas on how to keep this
from happening each time? Thanks

How are you closing the file?

It sounds like you might prefer to have Windows in Taskbar turned off, so
that you get separate X buttons for Word documents and Word itself. Toos -
Options - View, remove the check next to Windows in Taskbar.

If you prefer a keyboard solution rather than a GUI solution, use Ctrl+F4
rather than Alt+F4 to close documents.
