Importing Data to Excel
"Peri" <Peri[ at ]newsgroups.nospam> 22.08.2006 10:59:33
In Excel there is an option Data-->Import Data-->New Database query
In this using filter it is possible to display the record satisfying
condition.
(eg) Id equals value
But I want to specify a value for the condition from the Excel sheet. (i.e)
I need to pass a parameter from Excel sheet and retrieve the corresponding
data from SQL Server.
How do I do this?
I have searched for some material regarding this issue in the Internet also.
But I wasn't able to find.
Can someone help me by atleast giving the link to the solution?

Can I use this method by having SQL Server as my external source?
Because, when I was following this method, I got struck in a particular
step.
In MS Query, I Specified the criteria field.
In value column I chose the operator as Equals.
When I gave, Enter a configuration id in square brackets, It says there is
syntax error.
It prompts me to enter a value.
Because of this problem I am not able to pass a parameter.
Can someone offer help in this regrads?
