Why do graphics 'disappear' sometimes in a Word document?
Yodelling Zoo 28.07.2006 16:03:03
Sometimes when I insert a graphic from a file into a Word document the image
'disappears'. I know it's there, but I can't see it. If I click on the
document I get a blank outlined box, which I can then format. I have
unclicked 'Picture Placeholders' & reset the insert pictures default to 'in
front of text'. Is this an insufficient RAM issue? My coworker who has half
the RAM does not appear to have the same issue. This phenomenon also occurs
when I open documents which I have received containing graphics. Sometimes I
see the images, sometimes not. Any ideas what might be behind this
disappearing graphic act?

1. If you format the graphic to be "Inline with text" does the problem persist?

2. If you go to the manufacturer's website for your graphic card, download and
install the most recent driver, does that make any difference?

3. The other thing to try is reducing the hardware acceleration on your system
(you should find this in the "Advanced" settings for your display)

I have the exact same problem. Did you have anyone provide you with a fix?
