Can't see my blinking cursor in 2007
"BigK" <bigk[ at ]bellsouth.com> 19.07.2006 16:00:17
Don't know where to ask this ...

I am trying out 2007 and Vista
The combination of the two along with the fact that I like to have text
boundaries showing makes it nearly impossible to see the blinking keyboard
curser when it is along the left margin. It is almost invisible unless you
look really carefully. And I can't see anywhere to darken it, make it
bolder or change its color. In WordPerfect you can change the shape of it
to see it better. Any ideas?

It's a bug in Beta 2 that the text boudary hides the cursor on some
machines, and MS knows about it. It doesn't depend on Vista -- I see the
same thing on WinXP.

I'm glad they see it as a bug and not a feature so there's hope of a fix.
Till then I'll have to look really close.

It would also be cool if there was a feature you could use with keyboard
shortcuts to show you where it is, like you can with the pointer (pressing
control key and releasing it, if the option is enabled in tools, gives you
the flashing "bullseye").

Hi Virg,

You can sort of 'cheat' this one now to see a bigger 'target' of where the cursor is hiding. :)

If you double click the mouse while you're in a text area of a Word document it should select (highlight) the nearsest word so you
can see where the cursor is. You can also use Shft+left or right arrow to select, highlight a character.
