See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/MacrosVBA/UnSuperscptFnotes.htm. The Endnote Text style should be single-spaced by default, but, like many other styles, it is based on Normal, so if you modified Normal (instead of Body Text) to be double-spaced, then this would affect your endnotes as well.
