Installing PowerPoint 2000 from Office Standard into Windows XP?

I just purchased a Dell E310 which has Windows XP, Word and Excel 2003. I am
shutting down my Compaq 4843 for which I installed Word, Excel and PowerPoint
2000 using my Office Standard Upgrade CD. Is it possible to use this upgrade
CD to install the PowerPoint portion into my new system? I have historic
PowerPoint files I may need to access later.

Hi, Daniel,

If your Office 2000 was an OEM copy (or an upgrade of an OEM copy of Office
97), then you may not transfer it to another computer.

See if you can use the free PowerPoint 2003 viewer:
