office activation does not work what can I do?
pdillonp 27.07.2006 14:07:02
The business I'm a partner in has a Partner Program Action Pack subscription.
My new laptop came with a trial copy of MS Office pre-installed. I
uninstalled it and installed my Action Pack version.

However for some reason the activation process will not work: you select
'activate product' from the help menu and nothing happens. This is a little
frustrating - the wizard (or whatever it is - I don't know as I can't run it)
doesn't appear.

I'm in the middle of writing courses for a large business, some on Office
2000 (which is installed and running) and some on 2003, trying to show the
advantages of switching to 2003. It's a little difficult when you can't
install it...

Hi Susan

Tried this, same result - I'm wondering if having MS Office 2000 installed
at the same time is part of the problem. To my suprise, although Word 2003
doesn't work, a macro I recorded in Word 2000 turned up on the Word 2003
toolbar when I tried to activate it in this process. Odd!

Thanks for your help

Peter
