Hi, in the end I used the Windows Installer Cleanup tool on each application.
Clicking on the icons on the installation disk then started the installation process and I reinstalled each application.
I then installed all updates and checked whether the installation disk was still working which it was.
What the initial cause of the fault was I have no idea except that I have used ccleaner and another registry cleaner and maybe I had damaged the registry.
