Reading Office Document properties into InfoPath fields
Stacey Bailey 20.07.2006 20:36:02
Some of the values for fields in my InfoPath form I'm planning to create
actually come from Excel files. The values I'm after are stored in Named
Cells within Excel. I can create custom file properties mapped to these
cells to get the values into file properties.

Can I have InfoPath read Office file custom properties directly to load the
values into the form or should I map the properties to SharePoint document
library metadata fields and read in the data from those? The second part
sounds like a feasible option as long as field type conversions all work well.

Thoughts?
