How to scan N&Address dir. entries into fields for database import brdtim 11.07.2006 21:09:02 I want to scan a name and address directory using OCR to convert to editable text in EXCEL or some other program. The scan and OCR work fine and are brought into EXCEL in fileds. The problem is that each name and address info is spread across several lines just as you would expect to see it. It is then necessary to parse each desired field using a delimiter, however, there is no delimiter except for spaces between words. Since some names and address lines contain different word totals it is then necessary to go in and enter another "dummy" word/space to make all like cells align the same. This is more work than just typing each name, address and phone # into my database program, ACT! Does anyone know of a SIMPLE way of scanning and getting the resulting data into fields that can be imported into the database?
