default language - spell checker
"RoS" <kermit[ at ]bigpond.net.au> 10.07.2006 23:49:51
All my Word documents are in UK English. I have US English on the language
bar as well to enable me to use the keyboard symbols easily but spell
checking in Word is in UK English.
Now I have downloaded some web pages and want to print some of the
information contained in them. I want to copy the pages into Word and then
amend the text and delete some of the graphics.
The problem I have found is that the spelling and grammar checker constantly
reverts to US English while I am using it. Can this be altered so that the
default and only language used for this function is UK English?

Regards,

RoS

Hi, I had a similar problem.

What worked for me was Edit | Select all (or CTRL-A), then Tools | Language
| physically click on required language so that it is highlighted (not just
underlined), then click on OK. Save (STRL-S)

.... which should read CTRL-S of course. Did that work for you?

I think it might have. If so many thanks. I'll do a detailed check later
and confirm.

Ros

Always quote at least part of the message you're replying to (usually all of
it) so that people can keep track of the thread! Also, how did it go? I'm
a relative newbie myself so would be thrilled if I actually helped someone.
