I try to open a word doc it says the document is not avalible

I have just put office 2003 on my pc, I have done some college work and saved
them, when I tried to open the work it says

The file ...... is not avalible.

I need my college work, how can I sort this out.

If you're using Symantec/Norton AntiVirus, try disabling the
Office Plugin that comes with it. See

HELP, My norton has expired ages ago, I cant get anything up its not working
I tried following the steps but cant find the option to turn off the plug in.

If Norton AV was installed at one time then the DLL for the Office
Plug-in could still be registered.

Search for : officeav.dll

If you find it then go to Start/Run and run the following command:

regsvr32 /u "<path>\officeav.dll"

Here is a KB article that provides a few additional details. It does
not include information on Norton CE but it will contain additional
details on the unregister command if you need them:
