Wordview command line
Winston 14.07.2006 22:21:01
Am trying to use Wordview 2003 with a command line. Something like:
c:\program files\microsoft office\officeii\wordview.exe c:\document.doc

It doesn't work. Can't seem to find any instructions for WordView online.
Possibly there is no command line interface. Get error message as:
Wordview experienced an error trying to open...

Anyone got any ideas?
thank you,
Winston

OK, I figured out the problem. Wordview works ok if the .doc file has no
spaces in it when invoked in the command line. Works ok if .doc has no
spaces. Anyone have an idea as to how to get around this?

thanks,
Winston

Hi Winston,

If you put the full line in quotes it should work through, for example, Start=>Run

"c:\program files\microsoft office\officeii\wordview.exe" "c:\long named document.doc"

Thank you. Worked like a charm. I guess I forget a lot of old command line
rules.
