Unable to activate BCM even though it is installed
b1naryman 07.07.2006 01:44:02
Greetings,

When I click on the enable BCM link I get a message that states BCM is
already enabled, restart Outlook to use BCM. After a restart, BCM does not
show up in Outlook. If you delete the user's Outlook profile and then
recreate, a wizard pops up when you first open Outlook under the new profile
and you can successfully configure BCM. I don't want to have to do this for
everyone, some have very complex profiles(no, the save my settings wizard
does not work). I also tried to run the enableBCM.exe file manually with no
joy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

After installing BCM on machine, if you boot Outlook in any profile you
will see BCM configuration wizard. It is possible that you might have
chosen to not use BCM in that wizard. You can configure BCM without
reinstalling BCM. Goto Control Panel, Mail Applet and bring up Outlook
profile creation dialog. In this dialog, click the profile where you
want to add BCM. Click data files and click create new in next dialog.
If you have BCM installed, you will see Business Contact Manager data
as one of the option. Clicking this should bring up BCM configuration
wizard dialog again.
