Using remote database from computer that hasn't installed BCM
Nenad Horvat 11.07.2006 06:56:01
Can I use from my computer that has BCM v.3 beta installed a database that is
stored on another comp that hasn't got BCM installed? Basically, I need to
store my database on another comp (possibly server) that hasn't got BCM
installed. Is that possible, and if it is how is it possible? Thank you all
in advance...

With BCM v3, when you create the database, it gives you the option of
creating the database on another machine.

However, I assume that to do that, the BCM sql instance must already
exist on that machine. You can install the instance using Sql Xpress
(free download from Microsoft) and configuring it the BCM way (same sql
instance name and sql port as the instance BCM Setup created on your
machine). v3 may have some tools to do this, but I haven't foudn them
yet. The alternative is to install BCM on the server machine....
