As long as the machines (client in remote office and server in main office) can see each other and there isn't a firewall blocking the ports, it should technically work.
A while back, someone in this newsgroup was doing that over a VPN.
However, BCM is designed for working with almost no network latency, so the performance of the client will depend on how fast the network is.
