Here is what I do:
- Create a note - Click the Follow Up tool bar button and select Custom Date - Enter a date and a reminder - A task automatically gets created in Outlook

Which version? 2003 or the 2007 Beta?
The links between a given note and Outlook (capability differs depending on which version of ON you are using) should help.
Also, keep in mind that OneNote is not a PIM or calendar tool. Calendar management (including the scheduling and reminding of meetings) should be done in Outlook.
