I installed ON 2007 B2 and really want to use the new features. But any inking 1 do crashes ON immediately. I did the automatic crash report and diagnosis and it said that the bug would be fixed in the next beta but didn't tell me what the bug was. I really would like to know if I can fix this

just some more details: i can type into a note, but if i write anything, as soon as i lift the pen i get the crash dialog. my guess is that ON is trying to inspect the strokes and crashes. i get the crash even if i set the pen mode to drawing only.
i tried uninstallin and reinstalling, deleting all registry keysin te process, but still no luck. after uninstalling the first time, my original onenote 003 was no longer available (that seems like a bug).
i am on a motion computing 1400 tablet pc with sp2 installed

thanks for the help Patrick, i cant remember the exact option i chose when installing, but after uninstalling beta 2, i was left with a onenote.exe in my Microsoft Office start menu folder... talk about strange! my folders were untouched so i just reinstalled 2003 and everything is back to normal.
i tried new notebooks, sections, and pages and all crashed immediately after lifting the pen after inking. i have given up on this beta and hope they can fix the probelm and release another beta soon.

Hi, Patrick,
Your crashes are very interesting. :-) It is probably related to one of the bugs that I am fixing right now. A couple of questions:
1) On what kind of sections did you get the crash all the time? Are these sections created by ON2003? What kind of materials are there in these sections? Are there text, flags, images, or a mixture of these?
2) How about the sections that you do not have these crashes? What kind of materials are there in them?
3) Did you still have the problem if you open a new page in the old Section?
By the way, I assumed that you send out the Dr Watson report at least the first few times it occured. Approximately what date? Sorry for being so intruding, but it would help us a lot if I could make sure you did run into the same bug as mine.
Thanks a lot!

hey ther Xin, i think you might be refering to my crashes ;) i'll give yo the info anyway.
any page in any section or ntoebook caused an immediate crash uppon lifting the stylus. i ended up removing all the notbooks, then restarting ON B2 and creating an unfiled page and still the same crashing.
i submitted the crash report a few times i believe it was on the 8th and 9th. let me know if you find them

Eight crash reports? Were they all on the same day? When was the first time you hit the crash?

hey there patrick and Xin, wondering if this ever got resolved? i have been away for a bit. i have since uninstalled on b2, but would really like to try it out. on the question regarding the removal of the recognizer packages, i didn't touch those (do you mean the tablet recognizer - the wacom drivers?).

I have been away and just come back to the bug too. :-) Have you submit the bug on beta place already? Yes. I am not on the private beta new groups.
