No it is a DELL 3100 with Windows XP Home. It tells me my publisher 98 is a
blank disc & no response at all from Office 97

Can you navigate to those disks with Windows Explorer to look at the
contents of the CDs?

Did those programs come with another computer?

Because that version of Office came with another computer, you cannot
install them on another computer. You need to purchase a full retail version
of Office. Since those versions are ancient, you'll have to get Office 2003.

Open "My Computer" right-click the CD drive, click explore, can you see the
contents of the disk? Can you double-click the setup icon? It would seem strange
both disks are bad, you maybe having a drive issue.
