after installing office 2007 beta 2, my frontpage 2003 fails.
Just my 2 cents 15.07.2006 19:03:02
When I open FrontPage 2003, that part is fine, but when I go to save
anything, the program crashes and closes and sends error report to Microsoft.
I have a hosted website on GoDaddy.com servers and I use FrontPage 2003 to
upload the files. I never had a problem before I installed the MS Office
2007 Beta 2 programs and I want to uninstall the Beta 2 but I have heard
horror stories about uninstalling. Incidentally, I kept my Office 2003
programs on (except for Outlook) when I installed the Office 2007 Beta 2, but
installed Office 2007 Beta 2 into a different directory, Microsoft Office
2007. Could the fact that the original Microsoft Office folder in Program
Files has all those files left in it be causing the problem with FrontPage
2003 working properly?

What is the error? Your computer doesn't send an error report unless an error
occurred. It would be helpful to know what the error is...

After I restarted my computer following the last error, I cannot recreate the
error and FrontPage is now working just fine again.

I am getting the same error but nothing has helped. Since i installed Office
2007 Beta 2, FrontPage 2003 crashes every time I try to save the file. It
gives the error:

AppName: spdesign.exe AppVer: 12.0.4017.1004 AppStamp:44552257
ModName: msdaipp.dll ModVer: 12.0.4017.1003 ModStamp:444ef6b9
fDebug: 0 Offset: 00026594

I eventually tried to upgrade to SharePoint Designer 2007 Beta but am still
gettting the same problem i.e it crashes on every save operation. Please
help, from the error report it looks like a msdaipp.dll problem - how do i
get a fix?

I used to get a similar error with Outlook 2007 and i had to disable the pdf
toolbar in outlook. I have deleted all adobe professional toolbars, but that
hasn't helped here either. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Litmus,

The error message you posted is a Sharepoint Designer 2007 Beta 2 rather than FrontPage 2003. Are both listed as installed in
Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel?

If FrontPage 2003 is listed there can you complete a Repair/Reinstall of it?

Bob,
Currently only Sharepoint Designer 2007 Beta 2 is installed (I upgraded to
it after all the problems). Howver, i was getting a similar crash in FP 2003.
When I had FP 2003, I had tried the repair option and it didn't work.

I could revert back to FP 2003, but I am guessing it is same problem again.
Any other thoughts?

Litmus
