Anytime using the wrong MDW file gives users complete access to the database, that's a sign that security wasn't applied properly in the first place.
I suspect that you forgot to remove the default Admin Id from the Admins group.
I'd advise downloading the Security FAQ from http://support.microsoft.com/?id=207793, reading it carefully a couple of times, and reapplying security, making sure you don't leave out any steps.
