template backgrounds
Eric Staswick 30.06.2006 03:06:01
We are implementing some new letterheads in our department and I need to
provide staff with a template with approriate margins set up and a background
image of the letterhead displayed but not printed.. it works fine on my
computer, but how do I attach the image to teh template for other users when
I distribute it?

It will print, or not, depending on the user's settings to print drawings.

You might want to take a look at: How to set up letterhead or some other
document where you want one header on the first page and a different header
on other pages. http://www.addbalance.com/word/headersfooters.htm This gives
step-by-step instructions. (It also has the following links)

I understand how to make it print or not print, my only problem is that if I
"file>save as>template" the document when it is loaded on another computer if
sets the margins properly but not the backgorund image.. I need a way to
attach the image in the template file if possible. If it comes to it our
staff isnt that big (20-30) and I could set it up on each computer
seperately, but thsi seems the least acceptable option.. perhaps a globally
shared template on the network could be implemented, if so is it possible to
direct a template to a specific file stored loaclly for the background? In
that way I could still have the basketball coaches letterhead and the
football coaches letterhead display on each users computer yet use the single
template file

How are you inserting the "background image" on your computer?
