How do I stop Word 97 from sending CPU to sleepmode?
Laurie 25.06.2006 00:05:01
When I am using Word 97 it shuts off in the middle of a session and puts my
CPU into sleep mode and then reboots the CPU. After this, when I open my
Word program, sometimes the auto recover file does not appear and I cannot
open any Word documents. Sometimes I get an error message, sometimes not.

Does this have to do with the normal.dot file?

My guess is that the computer has a keyboard shortcut that activates sleep
mode. You need to change it (or disable it) so that it doesn't happen at
unwanted times.
