Activating Check spelling in WOrd 2003 (really urgent)
Hermie (desesparate) 25.06.2006 19:04:01
Hi everone,

I have been browsing for ages looking for somewhere that could tell me how
to activate the check spelling in word 2003. Basically, on my office I have
spanish, french, portugues (Brasil) auto check spelling, so anything I write
it can tell me I did wrong... however, I just added a new language (portugues
portugal), but it is not set as check spelling. I already added in control
painel a new language and set up the word as default, but still not showng
the little icon (abc) which means spell checker, does anyone knows how to
enable this option... it is really urgent!!!!!! thanks anyway....
Hermie

Did you also go over START/Microsoft Office/Microsoft Office 2003
Tools/Microsoft Office 2003 language settings and put the new language in the
list of active languages?

Well, FWIW I don't see any abc-icons on my system, but the auto-spellcheck
works, anyway.

If you select text and format it with the new language, then press F7 does that
spell check work for this text? And now if you continue to type does the auto
spellcheck kick in?
