ODBC source dialog fails to load after attempt to link database
devildas 07.06.2006 16:59:02
When linking to external database / table...I get the normal "Look in" dialog
box. I go all the way to the bottom, choosing ODBC databases. Normally, it
should bring up a new ODBC dialog allowing me to select my already
established and working System DSN SQL connections. This dialog box never
comes up. I cannot select the existing
ODBC connection. Has anyone ever seen this behavior. MDAC version is 2.8.
All service packs are installed on XP Pro and Office 2003 Pro.
Thanks

Problem is Norton Internet Security. To Fix, do the following:

1. Start Norton AntiVirus.
2. Click Options, and then click Miscellaneous.
3. Under How to keep Microsoft Office documents protected, click to clear the
Enable Office Plug-in check box, and then click OK.
4. Restart the computer.

Hope this helps someone.
