I recently posted on a "Redaction toolbar installation issue." A couple of days later (i.e. today) Microsoft released "Update for Office 2003 (KB907417)."
Microsoft describes this update this way:
"Microsoft has released an update for Microsoft Office Excel 2003 and for Microsoft Office Word 2003. This update corrects a potential problem in which an add-in, a smart tag, or a smart document may not load if it uses the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0."
That's the problem I reported--as others apparently did too. Yet the problem persists after installing the update (and restarting the computer for good measure).
Perhaps someone can reply if I provide more information. The Redaction template now appears in Templates and Add-ins, but is unchecked. I check it, though, and nothing ensues.
I thought this might be informative. I would guess that the Redaction Template has the Redaction Toolbar attached to it. But bringing up the Redaction Template in Organizer does not show any Redaction Toolbar on the Toolbar tab. But maybe this is irrelevant; maybe the toolbar is put into place by the dlls I se strewn about the folder...
