"send email as attachment" is not an option
Judy R. 04.06.2006 07:20:01
My earlier version of Word allowed me to email a document as an attachment.
Word 2003 only lets me send the page. Can this be fixed?

Funny, I was just about to post to ask why I couldn't do that in Word 2007. I
mean that I can send as an attachment but not as a page, the way I used to
send in 2003.

Is there any way of sending as a page?

I got a reply from a Word guru that suggested I added some stuff to the
win.ini file, which I did (didn't work). He also said in that case, the
registry would have to be edited. I don't feel confident enough to do that,
so I can't tell you if that will solve the problem. The strange thing is, if
the document is closed and just sitting on my desktop, I CAN send it as an
attachment! Go figure.

I found out today that with Word 2003 you have to have Outlook installed to
get "send as an attachment". Outlook Express isn't good enough. Just
another annoyance to live with.

Hi Judy,

I use Outlook Express, not Outlook with Word 2003 and
File=>Send to=>Mail Recipient (as Attachment) works with OE, but that could also be a left over from upgrading to 2003 from an
earlier version I suppose.

Outlook is installed, but not used.

That's a thought - I'll install Outlook and see what happens.
