How do I create a Distribution list within BCM
JackieT 01.06.2006 20:20:02
I have all my contacts in BCM. I have given each a category and each belong
to an account. I want to create a distribution list where everyone else
within my business can access this list and send a mass email to this list.
I know you can do this in Outlook but for some strange reason this cannot be
done in BCM. If I attempt to create a distribution list - it creates a
contact with no email addresses listed.

I'm in desperate need. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Jakie

BCM does not have an option to create a Distribution list however you can
create an account and associate Busienss Contacts to the same

Thanks Raul for your reply. After creating an account and associating
contacts with that account is there anyway that you can send an email to
everyone belonging to an account? so you're able to send a mass email?

thanks again.

This is what the ListBuilder feature in BCM is for.

You decide who in your company can have access to it and it take care
of managing the mass email, manages unsubscription requests,
produces reports on how effective emails were, and so on.

It also appears to be improved in the v3 Beta. ListBuilder is now a
feature of the new Marketing Campaign entity. In v1 and v2 exchanging
data with ListBuilder was in a sense a type of import and export.
The Marketing Campaigns add a bunch of new features, but I
haven't tried the new List Builder yet. It appears that some of the
features that required logging on to the ListBuilder web site are
now accessible in Marketing Campaigns.
